Eclectic contemporary electronic music styles merge with the power of a live band. Since 2013, the four musicians from Cats & Breakkies have been developing their unique and distinctive electronic live sound and have played over 300 shows in clubs and festivals across Europe. After their debut album “Organic Electro” and their second album “Spectral”, the Berlin band released their third studio album “New World” in spring 2024 and is on tour with it this year. In ihrer noch jungen Bandgeschichte hat die Techno-Jazz Band CATS & BREAKKIES bereits einiges erlebt und erreicht. Mit ihrem Debut-Album "organic electro" war der Vierer mit Jazz im Herzen und Techno in den Genen für den Bremer Jazzpreis nominiert und spielte bei verschiedensten Showcases (Reeperbahn Festival, Tallin Music Week oder Jazzahead Clubnight). Auch auf den größeren und kleineren Festivalbühnen (z.B. Fusion Festival, ELBJAZZ oder dem XJAZZ Festival) waren die Jungs mit ihrem tanzbaren Sound zu hören und sehen. Immer tanzbar, mit Mut zu elegischen Melodien, opulenten Breaks und satten Flächen überzeugen Cats & Breakkies vor allem durch die Präzision im Spannungsaufbau und die klangliche Weite ihrer Arrangements. Jetzt folgt das dritte Album, welches im April 2024 erscheinen wird! Dabei bleiben die vier Berliner ihrem Stil treu und spielen ihre zupackenden Techno-Jazz-Sounds mit akustischen Instrumenten in Bandbesetzung (Schlagzeug, E-Bass, E-Gitarre, Synthies). Am wohlsten aber fühlt sich die Band auf der Bühne und ist aktuell mit ihrem Album „NEW WORLD“ auf Release-Tour gehen. Egal ob Club, Festival oder Stadtfest, Cats & Breakkies bringen alles mit ihrem instrumentalen DJ-Live-Set in Wallung!
