Description du concert
The Guests Maybe they are this pair of vocalist and pianist coming to visit your living room, or maybe the guests are all of the songwriters and iconic artists from whence this duo draws their material. With a deep appreciation for the legacy of great songs and grooves, well-known master songstress Lucy Woodward along with dynamic collaborator creative pianist Henry Hey invite you to pull up a cozy chair for an energetic yet intimate evening. Drawing from their own expansive professional experience as songwriters and performers, Lucy and Henry will share classic songs from the deep well of writers such as David Bowie, Hoagy Carmichael and others and will add their own contributions on top.

Biographie de Lucy Woodward

LUCY WOODWARD releases Stories From The Dust. It is perhaps her most personal album yet, as crafted with GRAMMY Award-winning co-producer and co-writer of most of the songs on the album David Garza (Fiona Apple, Gaby Moreno). The tracks and melodies pull you toward Lucy’s poignant insights of matters of the heart in the world’s fragile present. David and Lucy spent several weeks in downtown LA writing these stories about women, the ones she grew up with—the fiercely independent and unconventional women who raised her—and those she merely observed from afar, whether in the sandbox or on the subway. Stories From The Dust features bass extraordinaire Tim Lefebvre and co-writer Larry Goldings. Inspired by Bill Withers and Nina Simone, she added inspiration from the deep rivers of Americana, blues, flamenco singing and the sounds of the female voices from Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66. Stories From The Dust is rootsy and melodic, continuing a decades-long streak of craft oriented, critically acclaimed full length albums from the New York native.

Other collaborations include Charlie Hunter, Pink Martini (singing in Croatian, Turkish, Spanish, French and Japanese on a few days' notice), several larger ensembles in Europe such as WDR Big Band, Danish Radio Big Band, Frankfurt Radio Big Band and Orchestra de la Suisse Romande. Recording/touring credits also include Rod Stewart, Snarky Puppy, Celine Dion, Charlie Hunter, Barbra Streisand and Chaka Khan, and has appeared on countless movie soundtracks.
