Illumishade

A rising star in the modern metal sky, boasting a cinematic scope to their brew of Prog
Metal full of majestic melodies, intricate cutting edge grooves and soaring leads
reminiscent of the golden age of guitar virtuosity that grab the listener by the heart.
Founded by singer Fabienne Erni in 2019, ILLUMISHADE started out as a graduation
project at ZHdK school of Arts with every band member being an alumnus.
Released in 2020 during the pandemic, the debut album titled ECLYPTIC: Wake Of
Shadows showcased the group’s core elements spectacularly while telling a classic tale
of light and dark in a fantasy world featuring several tribes.
Their latest single releases showed ILLUMISHADE branch out in a more modern direction
musically as well as lyrically, leading up to the release of their sophomore album Another
Side of You on the 16th of February 2024.
An undeniable manifest of combined forces of every band member, Another Side of You
shows ILLUMISHADE’s bold ambition to be a torch bearer of modern progressive heavy
music that dares to hop over genre boundaries while cultivating a highly original mix of
tasteful virtuosity, crushing heaviness, passionate melodies accompanied by ethereal
soundscapes and state of the art production.
Inspired by bands like Dream Theater, Periphery, Sleep Token, Spiritbox as well as film
scores by the likes of Ludwig Göransson, Johann Johannsson and Hildur Guðnadóttir.
