Biographie de Erin Harpe

"Erin has a timeless quality about her. Maybe it is her signature look with a flower in her hair and the fishnet stockings... or her virtuoso finger picking guitar style, or her beautiful singing voice, especially when she is covering the old-time blues music of Memphis Minnie or Sippie Wallace with a confidence and sass that might remind you of Maria Muldaur. Her style is both endearing and enduring." (Sound Waves Magazine)

"she can sing the tattoos right off your arm" proclaims Living Blues Magazine.

Leader of the award-winning electric boogie blues band Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers, Erin has recently been gaining attention as a celebrated finger-style acoustic guitarist and purveyor of Piedmont country blues - a style she learned from her dad, bluesman Neil Harpe, and by watching local luminaries such as John Cephas & Phil Wiggins, Archie Edwards, John Jackson, Eleanor Ellis, and Warner Williams, at Washington DC's famed Archie's Barbershop. Following up 4 critically-acclaimed albums with her band, Erin gets back to her roots in the country blues with her latest album, MEET ME IN THE MIDDLE. Living Blues Magazine called the new album "today's country blues at its very best", and crowned Erin "one of the finest fingerpicking acoustic blues singers in the land"! Featuring Erin on acoustic guitars, vocals, kazoo & foot percussion, with longtime partner/bassist Jim Countryman on ukulele bass & backing vocals, the album, which won 2021 Album of the Year from the New England Music Awards, was recorded in their home studio during the pandemic lockdown.
