Biographie de LP Swing Orchestra
Britain’s most popular big band. Playing contemporary takes on classic swing repertoire and regularly collaborating with the likes of Mica Paris, Joe Stilgoe, The Puppini Sisters, Clare Teal, Matt Ford, Paul Jones and Gary Williams. Their two 2022 televised concerts for Sky Arts were critically acclaimed and their latest single I Wanna Be Like You charted at number 1 in the iTunes Jazz Chart and 32 in UK Singles. The band’s annual appearances the Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom and London’s Royal Albert Hall have made them internationally renowned for Ballroom and Latin dancers
Previously known as The Len Phillips Big Band, the London-based outfit made its debut in 1986. Featuring some of the UK’s top-flight session and jazz musicians, it enjoys a reputation as one of the finest bands of its type in the country. Its personnel includes Mike Smith (drums), Jon Shenoy (alto), Russ Bennett (trumpet), George Hogg (trumpet), Jon Stokes (trombone) and Gemma Moore (baritone). The band is led by bassist Joe Pettitt.
