Ricky Dover Jr is a rock musician from Nashville TN. RD was born in Houston TX, and was raised in Knoxville TN. RD formed his first band, 122o, when he was fifteen years old and independently released four albums. In 2007, RD moved to Murfreesboro TN to complete his undergraduate at Middle Tennessee State University - graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Production.
Immersing himself the Nashville TN music scene, RD began to find work playing guitar (and/or bass) with numerous local bands within the Lower Broadway Honky Tonk music scene. RD formed The Tip in 2015, and saw the release of two albums. By 2018, RD toured extensively with Nashville’s Blackfoot Gypsies (now DeeOhGee), including support slots to Sheryl Crow, Margo Price, Tyler Childers, The Darkness.
In late 2022, RD joined Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Jason Ringenberg (Jason & the Scorchers) to perform at Nashville’s iconic music venue, Exit/In.
Early 2023 saw RD playing with Nashville rock artist Gyasi, and the release of “Baby Blue” music video, directed by Slowhand Films - which gathered over 200k views on YouTube in the first week. The track, produced by Dominic Davis (Jack White), features RD on guitar and bass - as well as two-time Grammy award winner Daru Jones (Jack White) on drums. RD joined Gyasi at the 2023 Bonnaroo Music Festival, as well as a successful festival tour run in France, and provided guitar tracks for the upcoming Gyasi album.
In October’23 RD joined two-time Grammy nominee Grace Potter (Grace Potter & the Nocturnals), insupport of her latest album, Mother Road.
