Description du concert
Our 2024 DNA Song Camp is coming Thurs. May 2nd at 5pm through Sunday, May 5th. We'll have plenty of time to flex our songwriting muscles and to sing up a storm (metaphorically!) We've expanded our camp to include more group singing, harmonizing and vocal troubleshooting. Anne Luna, Steve Smith, Tom Adler and Chris Sanders will be on hand along with Catherine and Gary and the stellar staff at the Lodge to bring you lots of opportunities to make new music and sing your own song (even if it's a cover!) Songwriters and singers at all levels are welcome. Starting with happy hour and dinner at 5pm on Thursday, May 4, you can look forward to a camp that is part retreat, part instruction, part coaching and ALL music. This is your chance to cut loose and make YOUR music with your unique voice. The beauty of nature at the Lodge and their wonderful meals create the perfect environment! Biographie de Anne Luna

While “that thing’s bigger’n she is,” Anne Luna makes playing the bass look easy. Harmonizing in her mother’s lap before attending school, playing bar gigs before she was of legal drinking age, touring before she could rent a car, Anne had gigs nearly immediately upon picking up the double bass. She has watched bar fights while laying down the beat, bowed heart wrenching lines next to grand pianos, and sang with manatees swimming behind her—because music is something she can’t NOT do.

Anne’s bass playing has been described as graceful and elegant, yet precise and hard driving. As a songwriter and vocalist, her clear, unique voice both stands on its own and rounds out the Hard Road Trio’s vocal work. Her songs have been nominated for two New Mexico Music Awards. As an accomplished, enthusiastic instructor, Anne’s energy and her easy-going manner create a welcoming learning environment for all of her students.
