We're back at Jilly's Music Room for a very special show featuring the music of one of Northeast Ohio's own, CASEY BREFKA!
Tickets to attend this performance are $10 and available on eventbrite.com! Online reservations recommended. Remaining seats FCFS at the door.
Originally from Hudson, OH (class of 2004), Casey now resides in Nashville, TN where he works as a trumpeter, valve trombonist, composer, arranger and musical director of his own "Music City Big Band." Before moving to Nashville, Casey studied jazz composition at the Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory.
There's more! We're also pleased to welcome guest vocalist HEIDI SWINFORD singing some of Casey's arrangements with the Danjo Jazz Orchestra for the first time! Heidi has performed with some of the area's most talented ensembles including the Jeremey Poparad Jazz Orchestra, Joseph Rubin & his Orchestra, and Axon Neuron, just to name a few.
Show begins at 8pm. This special performance is not to be missed!

Biographie de Casey Brefka
Casey Brefka - originally from Hudson, OH; now from Nashville TN - is a contemporary jazz trumpet player, composer, arranger, and teacher. He currently plays trumpet for the Chris Weaver Band (based out of Nashville), Hey, Listen! (a jazz/funk video game cover band), and is the musical director and frontman for the Music City Big Band, an 18-piece big band in Nashville playing contemporary jazz music and featuring Nashville's finest jazz musicians.
After a distinguished high school career, Casey earned a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he graduated in 2008 with a degree in Jazz Composition. After a few brief stints with the Artie Shaw Orchestra, he earned his Master's degree in Jazz Studies from New England Conservatory of Music in 2012 and spent a year on the faculty of Berklee College of Music, serving as an Assistant Professor of Contemporary Writing and Production. He then relocated to Nashville in the fall of 2015. Casey has performed with such jazz greats as McCoy Tyner, Maria Schneider, Phil Wilson, Greg Hopkins, and new voices in jazz such as Omar Thomas, Dynamo, and others.
Casey currently freelances around Nashville, and instructs the after-school jazz band at Siegel High School in Murfreesboro, TN.
Casey is a proud member of the Executive Board of the American Federation of Musicians Local 257.
