Biographie de Daimy Lotus
To Dutch artist and songwriter Daimy Lotus (she/her), music is therapy. She is a very soft and open person but with an edge to it, which you can hear both in her lyrics and her music. Themes she writes about are heartbreak, mental health and self growth. Daimy’s catchy melodies along with her strong vocals match the punchier sound of her music. Besides normalizing the conversation about mental health, Daimy is also a big advocate for making everyone feel heard and seen.
Daimy’s music is best described as empowering rock- and punk influenced popmusic with a punch to it. Artists that inspire her are Gayle, Yungblud and Fletcher.
Since early childhood Daimy has been involved with music, singing and dance. Even at the tender age of five she could be found performing at the yearly cultural market in her home town. In 2009 she decided to pursue a career in songwriting as well.
At the age of 18 she released an EP named '15' including her first single Saturday Girl and follow up single Cannonball, which she got acknowledged for by Dutch radiostation 3FM by naming her Serious Talent. Other radiostations followed along. She played at many festivals and did a Dutch tour through 20 different cities.
After writing songs and performing them for her solo project for several years, she decided to focus on writing for other artists as well (2017). Therefore she has worked with a variety of songwriters, producers and artists in- and outside the country. By focussing on her songwriting- and recording skills over the years, Daimy has ensured her spot in the music industry as a writer/vocalist and has proven to be an undeniable force in the studio. She has songs out with ao Markus Schulz, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Paris Hilton, Phuture Noize and Julian Jordan. Thanks to these collaborations, she has performed on some of the biggest stages in the Netherlands like Defqon1 and a sold out AFAS Live.
Daimy’s top priority right now, next to writing for others still, is her solo project. Expect catchy rock- and punk influenced pop songs in a space where there’s no room for hate and judgement and where everyone can be their authentic self.
