Biographie de Dan Saulpaugh
New York City based singer-songwriter Dan Saulpaugh exists at the nexus of indie-folk and modern jazz. Blending the emotional immediacy of Jeff Buckley's folk-as-art-music aesthetic with the harmonic richness of Wayne Shorter's '60s compositions, Saulpaugh has created a detailed musical world. This acts as a jumping off point for his songs that explore the complexities of being in love and finding one's place spiritually in the world.
A graduate of City College's Jazz program, and having studied classical guitar at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music, Saulpaugh studied with many innovators in modern jazz and classical guitar, including Lage Lund, Brad Shepik, Pete McCann, Kenny Wessel, Paul Meyers, and Doug Rubio. He was a finalist in The Greene Space's 2015 Battle of the Burroughs - Bronx.
Dan Saulpaugh just released his debut EP, Before the Fire Is Gone. It is available for purchase on all platforms including Bandcamp, iTunes, and Amazon.
