Biographie de Lion
‘Self Control’, which channels White Stripes and AM-era Arctic Monkeys via the ‘70s-inflected rock of Jefferson Airplane, is the playful and self assured debut from LION aka Beth Lowen. The single sees LION’s ferocious, Janis Joplin-esque rasp of a voice acknowledge her own inability to deal with confrontation and offering a ‘sorry not sorry’ apology.
The single comes off the back of a busy start to the year for LION. Before releasing any music she’d already garnering support from her husky but powerful live sets, with support slots for Albert Hammond Jnr, Isaac Gracie and The Vaccines, as well as recently announced GIRLI. She also recently performed at this year’s SXSW in Austin, Texas and The Great Escape.
