hide with Spread Beaver

hide with Spread Beaver was a Japanese rock band formed in the late 90's. Vocalist and guitarist, hide, formed the band after the disbandment of his previous group, X JAPAN. The members of Spread Beaver were originally hide's live players for his solo work, until they decided to join to form a band. They released a number of singles and until the unexpected death of their vocalist. Their first and only album, Ja,Zoo, was still incomplete at the time of hide's death, with only three songs recorded. However, the album was finished and released months later.

Many of the members moved on to other groups after the disbandment of Spread Beaver. K.A.Z. (ex-Oblivion Dust) joined groups such as Spin Aqua (with singer/actor/model Anna Tsuchiya). He also formed the group Sonic Storage with I.N.A. (ex-Dope HEADz) Kiyoshi joined/formed the groups Machine (with Hakuei of PENICILLIN), Madbeaver and Lucy (with Imai Hisashi of BUCK-TICK). Both K.A.Z., Kiyoshi and the other members of Spread Beaver assisted and worked with various other artists.
