Returning from a short intermission, post-punk sweethearts Square are celebrating the release of their single Brand New (Haha) live at Vic On The Park!
With an infamously athletic punk-rock performance, these four have accrued an energetic reputation throughout the east coast of Australia alongside the likes of These New South Whales, Gut Health, The Empty Threats, and Dr Sures Unusual Practice.
Fresh off the press, Brand New (Haha) was written as an outburst of energy in response to the frustrations of modern life, and with a brit-pop turned post-punk flavor setting the backdrop of Square’s discography, this single stands out as an exhilarating insight into their live performance.
Square will be joined by the wonderful Scatterlight and The Appointments for this lovely night of fun x

Square are anything but.
In the dimly lit clubs of Meanjin, Square’s blistering energy can be found pouring from each member as
limbs and instruments are flung across stage with an intensity that leaves audiences reaching for another
pint. By far the bounciest punk-rock outfit within 200 km of the Brisbane River, these four have accrued a
dynamic reputation performing with the likes of These New South Whales, Gut Health, The Empty
Threats and Dr Sures Unusual Practice.
As students of classic British acts like Blur, The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays, Square wear their
influences on their sleeve, whilst forging a dynamic new sound that imprints a humid, gone-troppo flavour
on the British post-punk tradition. Since the release of their debut EP, "Introducing," in 2023, Square has
taken flight on stages across the nation - All while being spun on a number of radio stations such as 4zzz,
triple J and NCPR.
Celebrating the release of their single ‘Brand New (Haha)’, the band look forward to the day Peter Garrett
finally uses the door spot he’s automatically allocated at every Square show.
