Biographie de Natalie Wilson

Introducing Natalie Wilson, a 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Simsbury, CT. While pursuing her master's degree in Music Business at NYU, Natalie embarks on her journey as an independent artist with the release of her much-anticipated debut EP, "Track Season."

"Track Season" is available worldwide as of May 26th, 2023.

Drawing on her background in English from Skidmore College, Natalie's music exhibits a poetic approach that resonates with listeners. Her heartfelt lyrics blend seamlessly with a complex and unexpected soft rock production and a singer-songwriter twist.

In 2022, Natalie's senior capstone project in songwriting caught the attention of Skidmore College Career Development Center, leading to their generous support for the recording, mixing, and mastering of "Track Season" in the Summer of 2022. Leveraging the outstanding resources at Skidmore's recording studio and the renowned Zankel Music Center, Natalie brought this project to life. The title "Track Season" carries a dual meaning, referring to both the famous eight-week schedule of the Saratoga Race Track and the period during which the album was recorded. It serves as a subtle tribute to Natalie's four years in Saratoga Springs and she continues to express gratitude towards Skidmore for their unwavering support of her artistic journey. The album opens with Track 1 "Saratoga," featuring a trumpet sample captured from the Saratoga Race Course, further immersing the listener in the essence of the project.

Natalie draws inspiration from her personal superhero songwriters, including the likes of Jack Johnson, Michael Nau, Phoebe Bridgers, Peter Cat Recording Co., and M. Ward. Listeners will notice these influences interwoven into the diverse soundscape of these 5 songs. Throughout the EP, Natalie delves into the complexities of transitioning from early adulthood, exploring themes of self-reflection, duality, embracing personal growth, navigating relationships and attachments, cherishing friendships and college experiences, and reconciling personal identity with moral values during transient periods of life.

Reflecting on her musical journey, Natalie shares, “This project embodies the musical persona I have meticulously crafted over the past decade. Skidmore's unwavering belief in my artistry has only validated my identity as a musician, songwriter, and creative individual and I am immensely grateful for it. I will seize every opportunity to express this appreciation to my alma mater."
