Midsummer

Following the huge sell-out success of last September's film music concert, the Leighton-Linslade Gala Orchestra is back with another exciting hour-long Sunday afternoon concert. This time the music will have a bright and joyful midsummer feel with music to suit all ages. Included in the programme will be Roger Quilter's "Children's Overture", Gershwin's ever-popular song 'Summertime', selections of songs by Henry Mancini and ABBA and much more. The concert will again be fund-raising for a local charity. This time the Orchestra has chosen the Magpas Air Ambulance service, based in Cambridge but which covers the Leighton Buzzard area. Tea and cakes will be available in the Church Hall after the concert, kindly provided by members of St Barnabas, with profits going to the Church. All welcome to come along and enjoy a fun afternoon of light orchestral music. NOTE: to keep track of audience numbers, free tickets for those aged 16 and under must still be obtained in advance or at the door.
