Biographie de Automatic Weekend
Initially a two-man band rooted along the banks of the Rio Grande, brothers Sergio and Adrian Romanos formed Automatic Weekend with nothing more than a guitar, drums and a dream. Drawing from their influences such as Junior Kimbrough and Lightning Hopkins, their music was steeped in the blues. However, their shows were loud and fast which displayed their ability to absorb their influences to write rock n roll songs all their own. After making a name for themselves on the local scene, the brothers headed North to Austin to try their luck. There they met a kindred spirit and former Laredoan, Fernando Gutierrez and added him to bass. The trio quickly wrote, produced, and recorded their debut album Hermanos. Mastered by Sam Patlove at Fresh Up Studios in Austin, the album just scratched the surface of what was yet to come.
Building off of the success of Hermanos, the trio jumped backed into the studio in Feb 2016. This time around they enlisted the help of acclaimed musician and producer Adrian Quesada. Recorded over just three days at his studio,Level One Sound, the trio emerged with their grittiest, bluesiest effort to date.
After taking some time off, the band added fourth member Mark Martinez on bass, allowing Fernando to move to guitar. The band has been busy writing new material aiming to get back into the studio by the summer of 2019.
