Description du concert
To celebrate the release of Safety Hazard’s new single ‘Burnout Paradise’ they’re hitting the Black Bear Lodge stage alongside Melbourne friends Chey Jordan on his Australian wide tour, as well as local legends It’s Acrylic for an explosive and entertaining night.Doors – 6pmIt’s Acrylic – 6:30-7:00Chey Jordan – 7:20-8:05Safety Hazard – 8:30-9:30SAFETY HAZARD:Safety Hazard is one of Meanjin’s (Brisbane) hardest-hitting rock bands with a fresh unique sound. Featuring bassist Tom Gillard, drummer Jacc McLeod and inanimate band member, Sloane The Cone, these three create a unique, humorous and bass-thumping experience that’ll blow the roof off. Breaking onto the scene back in 2022 to an explosive first show resulting in a wild mosh pit, the band’s focus has always been on hard-hitting riffs and entertaining sets that have the whole audience leaving with a night they won’t forget. After an explosive first gig of the year opening at Riverstage for ex-One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, the band now delivers to you their fourth single ‘Burnout Paradise’Chey Jordan:After a sold-out acoustic tour, Chey Jordan returns to the scene with a new single and the talented likes of his band on an Australian-wide tour. From start to finish, Chey brings a sense of vulnerability to his performances inviting the crowd to a raw and exclusive version of himself. Pinching the surface of bedroom pop with underlying tones of grunge, Chey and his band are a prime example of the Australian indie pop genre defining the industry right now. It's Acrylic:It’s Acrylic formed in 2018 and since, the 5 best friends have been through thick and thin together pouring themes of loss, depression and hope into their music. Singer Tay isn’t shying away from trauma and growth and the band bring the dynamic, heavy alt rock aesthetic to back it up. Each project is a time capsule of feelings and memories that conjure images of ugly crying on your mates shoulder through to a hug from your mum. Their sold out performances bleed catharses and comradery bringing people together to share a moment of small peace from the chaos of the world.

Biographie de Chey Jordan

From start to finish, Chey brings a sense of vulnerability to his performances inviting the crowd to a raw and exclusive version of himself. After releasing the charting single ‘wait 4 u’ debuting at number 4 on the Triple J Unearthed pop charts, he's just happy to be making change.

'My Dad grew up in England in the 70s and would always tell me how hard it was to be a fan of poetry and songwriting back then. Now he gets to come along to my shows and watch me play these songs I've written to crowds who all sing along, it's a full circle moment for the family'.

Now in 2024, Chey has been named a 'runner-up' award winner for APRA AMCOS & A Little Bridge studio residency, played a sold-out Western Australia tour, been named one of Breaking Sound's 'ones to watch' (with shows at The Night Cat in Melbourne and The Oxford Art Factory in Sydney), supporting acts like Mia June, Marvell, The Tullamarines & Leo; it's safe to say Chey has established the foundations of a ever-growing career in the industry.
