Moroccan Lounge Presents: Cuffed Up (Album Release Show) with Maudlin Strangers [May 2, 2024 / Doors 6:30pm / $15 Adv / $17 DOS / All Ages] Cuffed Up have a knack for distilling big dreams into sound. Their debut album All You Got is filled with dreams of bigger stages, a more open heart and a more equitable society?in short, dreams that are swiftly dismissed as naive. For this Los Angeles three-piece, ?anthemic? is not just an apt descriptor of their sound, it?s an ethos. Cuffed Up has garnered much support from KEXP, Audiotree, BBC Radio 1 + 6, Radio X and subsequently from the likes of Paste Magazine, NME, Flood, Spin and The Line Of Best Fit. They?ve toured with bands like Silversun Pickups and The Joy Formidable, appearing twice at SXSW.

These guys are so sweet! They put on an amazing show and I love them so much!! Plus they sell their own merch and hang with the fans. The drummer gave me his drumsticks after the show. It was so much fun, I was glad I got to see them once again!

Biographie de Maudlin Strangers
As the brain-child of Los Angeles native Jake Hays, Maudlin Strangers began its inception as a solo indie rock project in 2010. After a handful of independent releases and curating a band comprised of close friends (Jeff Lehrer on Guitar/Keys, Kenny Benson on Bass, and Richie Gonzales on Drums), they signed with BMG/Vagrant Records to release the label-debut "Overdose" EP in 2015, subsequently touring with label-mate Bad Suns across US/Canada. After a west coast tour with pop-trio LANY, they toured as direct support for Cold War Kids on their North America/Canada tour, before ultimately going on a hiatus in 2016. Forward to 2023, Maudlin Strangers re-emerges with a new lineup of more close friends (original member Richie Gonzales on Drums, Alexander "Schmorgle" Morgan on Guitar/Keys, and Drew Bruchs on Bass). The hiatus-breaking single "I'm Not In The Right Mind" streams everywhere October 27th, 2023.
