Biographie de The Snobs

There are a lot of bands called The Snobs: among them there is a French Alternative Rockband and an Hungarian anarcho-punk band and a skatepunk/hardcore band.

1) The french band called The Snobs was formed in 2002 by two brothers : Mad Rabbit (Vocals) and Duck Feeling (Guitar, Piano and Backing Vocals). They released their first album, self titled, in 2003, which could be downloaded on their website for free. They still release their albums this way today. Since 2003, they released 6 albums and 2 E.P. At the same time, they created a collection of records called "the snobs' dustbin" which is dedicated, for exemple, to the members' solo stuff and, and they released under this name 1 album ("I Like To Kraut - TSD2") and 3 E.P. All these albums are available for free. Since their first album to the most recent "Brule En Bikini!", their music has been changing from an noisy alternative rock to more krautrock or even post-rock records ("Beatniks In The USSR", 2006) and they are influenced by bands like Sonic Youth, Can, Stereolab or the artists for the Constellation label. They are currently working on their 7th album.

2)The hungarian band called tHE sNOBS is an anarchist punkgroup from budapest, with a female singer. They have four albums: Vörös és Fekete (1997), aNALYSIS (2000), tHE sNOBS (2004), aTTITUDE (2005).

"After 3 wonderful years, in December of 1995 after a horrible concert The Shitheads were broken up. (Keti-singer, Laca-guitarist, Kakukk-drummer, Ági- bass-player). There’s a lot more to say about this, but the passion towards making music hasn’t subsided, so in 1996 with the old musicians (Laca-guitarist, Kakukk-drummer, Ági- bass-player) and with a new singer (Kinga) tHE sNOBS was founded."

"The name came instinctively and only after many years did it register that in the Shitheads’ last song our new path was designated and formulated. The punk lost its original meaning and it was only ’nostalgic night’, against which it fought. The underground produced its own stereotypes, its larger than life „oldies,” its role models, its own Snob world. Due to this it was an obvious choice to erect a mirror and to keep it up even until today. Besides Ági, the founding members were already replaced by 1996. Kinga (who founded the Nyápic Publishings) moved to France, Kakukk spent months in a hospital, and Laca’s life was overtaken by drugs, and even after fighting for his life he died in February of 2000. His replacement, who also became the band’s pillar member was Vityka. In the many years to come many members were ’digested’ by the band’s lifestyle and its refusal to settle the undiminished front."

(aki a magyar zenekart hallgatja, annak halkan megjegyezném, hogy szavazzon a képeknél a másikra :))

3) The skatepunk/hardcore band from Tx formed in 2000/2001 who were age 12-14 with a late bassist being as old as 23. Most well known for their debut 7" School's Out, Let's Skate and the faster, tidier Control EP that followed in 2002. They played locally in Tx before doing an east coast tour in 2002 playing the 2002 Positive Number fest. They broke up in July of that year.
