Blushing are a band I have been longing to see here in the UK ever since I first heard of them on DKFM Shoegaze Radio. So, I was delighted when they were announced as support to Ringo Deathstarr for their UK tour. They were absolutely awesome, dreamy, lush, shimmering ethereal sparkly and gleaming, indeed they shone brightly considering this was their debut appearance in Birmingham, putting on a confident, assured set. Headliners Ringo Deathstarr were excellent also, bringing their full repertoire of soaring, hazy, squall and confident noise pop, delivering a blinding set full of confidence and energy. They really can make you race along and suddenly allow you to glide astride their sonic blisswaves. They ended by lampooning Oasis and their song Champagne Supernova, trying to get the crowd to sing the chorus in a droning, low end monotone fashion, deciding to sing instead the chorus to the Beatles song She Loves You, all good fun.

Biographie de Blushing
Comprised of two husband and wife teams, Blushing is an Austin, TX based shoegaze / indie rock quartet formed in 2016 by friends Christina Carmona (vocals, bass) and Michelle Soto (guitar, vocals). The two incorporated their spouses Jacob Soto (drums) and Noe Carmona (guitar) bringing together an array of combined influences from bands like Elastica, Curve, Veruca Salt, Lush, and My Bloody Valentine.
Their debut EP "Tether" was released in 2017 followed by "Weak" in 2018 both engineered by Phillip Odom. In 2019 they released their debut LP “Blushing” on Wallflower Records. Engineered, produced and mixed by Elliott Frazier of Ringo Deathstarr. They partnered with Frazier again to record their sophomore LP “Possessions” released in 2022 on
Kanine Records. This album saw the band actualizing long-held dreams of working with Miki Berenyi of Lush and Mark Gardener of Ride with a marked display of growth in the band’s ability to expand beyond genre limits.
Channeling their high-energy performances, Blushing have toured the U.S. extensively and recently returned from a Japan tour with Softcult. They have been asked to play official SXSW showcases, Levitation, Audiotree, Part Time Punks and have shared stages with L.A. Witch, Beabadoobee, Snail Mail, Sunflower Bean, La Luz, BRONCHO, illuminati hotties, and many more.
