Description du concert
Keaper are hitting the road to celebrate the release of their debut album 'Waking Dream'. Hailing from the suburbs of Melbourne, Keaper is a ‘dreamo’ audiovisual project. The band’s songs are recognisable by their introspective lyrics, melodic instrumentation and the dreamy atmosphere they create, drawing inspiration from 90s alternative rock, midwest emo, shoegaze, and artists such as DIIV, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead and The Sundays. The vibrant and magnetic Lucy Lorenne & The Early Birds are a five-piece indie pop rock outfit based in Melbourne, Australia. Fronted by the captivating Lorenne, the Early Birds have cultivated a strong following with their fiery sound, sharp songwriting, conscious, heartfelt lyricism and wildly tight live shows, providing sweet and cheeky tunes that amplify a growing post-millennial angst. Following a successful debut EP (Summers Gone), a string of music festivals (Port Fairy Folk Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival) and live shows across Melbourne alongside some of Australia’s best (Memphis LK, Old Mervs, Suzi), Lucy Lorenne and the Early Birds trajectory is up, up and up! Their latest single, ‘Tamagotchi Nights’ – a boppy nostalgia-driven pop anthem commemorating childhood innocence and fantasy – marks new depths of sonic and lyrical maturity for the band. Accompanied by an equally banging, y2k-inspired music video and limited vinyl run, the Early Bird's aim to shake things up in 2024 and beyond. With multiple shows lined up and new music on the way, the scene is set for much more Early Bird magic to come. So keep watch birdwatchers!Hassall is a singer-songwriter & self-confessed rambler from the bottom right corner of regional Victoria. Stirring together addictive countrysoulsex-esque vocal hooks, taboo topics & lyrics relatable in the way you don’t wanna admit, she emerges into a style self-described as ‘Australian Sharehouse Pop’.7PM DOORS OPEN7:30-8:10PM HASSALL8:30-9:10PM LUCY LORENNE9:30PM KEAPER**11PM GOOD FRIDAY LICENSE**We acknowledge that the Wadawurrung People of the Kulin Nation are the traditional custodians of the land on which we operate. Biographie de Keaper

Hailing from the suburbs of Melbourne, Keaper is a ‘dreamo’ audiovisual project borne from the shared artistic dreams of vocalist/guitarist Ameya and bassist Julia during their university days. With the addition of classmates Austin and Sam, Keaper’s distinct sound and live performance has since come to life with layers of fuzzy hooks and articulate, driving percussion. Drawing inspiration from artists like DIIV, The Smashing Pumpkins and The Sundays, the band’s songs are recognisable by their pensive lyrics, melodic instrumentation and the introspective atmosphere they create. Doubling as a visual art project, Keaper combines artforms to provide a unique style of escapism reflective of the band’s interest in cinema, illustration and photography.

The past two years have been massive for Keaper - the band has released their first single plus two EPs, and played a ton gigs including a recent east coast tour with stops in Sydney, Wollongong, Byron, Gold Coast and Canberra. Keaper have performed in beloved Australian venues including Federation Square, The Toff In Town, Volta, Cherry Bar, Vinnie’s Dive (QLD), Cambridge Hotel (NSW), and shared stages with artists such as Alex Lahey, The Grogans, Mylk, Soft Powder and Goon Gremlins.

“The band have already released a small collection of EPs and singles that flirt with a myriad of influences to create one introspective whole.” - Beat Magazine

“Indeed Australia is (and always will be) a big hub for emerging bands of a high caliber,
but Keaper sounds like they're at the forefront of the new breed of acts.” - It’s All Indie

“Day By Day is a dream for any bedroom-indie-shoegaze fans. The sound is something
they got so right last year, but this time around you can hear them starting to push the limits with their most triumphant and anthemic song to date” - Homegrown Sounds
