Jay Tripwire, a DJ with over 25 years of experience, has toured extensively in 200 cities worldwide, maintaining a vinyl ethos. Despite potential health issues from flying, he prepares meticulously for gigs, crafting seamless re-edits for his extended sets. A fixture at SuperFreq parties, he's played in renowned venues globally. His consistent presence in Beatport's top 100 since 2014 across genres showcases his versatility. Beyond music, Jay explores new tunings and healing frequencies. His recent projects include a minimal vinyl venture and collaborations. Notably, he pioneered the trend of DJs playing dark music in all black attire. #trailblazer

Born in Colombia, Mateo Beroa strengthens his understanding of rhythm through the collection of salsa records. His taste for well-composed dance music eventually brought him to minimal house/techno, which has been the foundation of his journey as a DJ. Mateo is full of surprises and his passion for evolving sound makes his sets live changing experiences.

Jay Tripwire Bio
In the late 80s and early 90s Jay Tripwire was heavily influenced by the deep futuristic sounds coming from Detroit, the classic house sound from NYC and the early raw freshness of the Chicago sound that it became a fusion Jay would be known for.
Living isolated in Vancouver Canada gave the Vancouver djs their own sound and style of Djing, alongside his peers such as Tyler "Tbone" Stadius, Dj Ali and Vernon, Jay had honed his craft in the underground scene, playing numerous warehouse parties, clubs, afterhours and making mixtapes.
Not content to just Dj Jay attended a sound engineering school where he took courses in sound engineering and music theory and began building his own studio. later named "Teletran 1".
during the 90s Jay was Djing 3-5 nights a week, he was also the house buyer for one of the local record stores and spent his spare time in the studio getting himself familiar with producing house tracks ,little did he know he would be getting the necessary expertise as a well respected local Dj to propel him to the next level of his career.
10 years ago Jay released his 1st record marking the beginning of what has gone on to be over 100 '12 inch singles selling more than 250 000 vinyl units total.
Jays discography and list of venues played list is long and hard to keep up with, which go hand in hand with the grueling schedule Jay keeps in the studio and on the road.
Jay has returned to his roots of that unique fusion of Detroit ,NYC and Chicago and gives credit to being inspired by this sound again while living in LA and hearing one of his mentors, the legendary Doc Martin play a 7+ hour set at one of Docs legendary Sublevel warehouse parties.
when it comes to deep basslines and soul soaked Detroit inspired grooves, there's only one name: Jay Tripwire.
