Smith & Thell est un groupe pop/folk basé à Stockholm, en Suède. Le duo, composé de Maria Smith (chant, guitare) et Victor Thell (chant, guitare, production), s'est rencontré pour la première fois en tant que jeunes adolescents lors d'un événement musical local dans leur ville natale d'Helsingborg, dans le sud de la Suède. Leur premier album Soulprints sort en avril 2017 via le label indépendant nordique Playground Music. Le single international qui suit, Forgive Me Friend , sort en novembre 2018, et a conduit le groupe à signer son premier contrat avec le célèbre label américain Arista Records, une filiale de Sony Music Entertainment. Le deuxième album de Smith & Thell, Pixie's Parasol , a été publié par Arista Recordings en 2021, avec les succès Forgive Me Friend , Hotel Walls , Year of the Young et Goliath . Le duo s'est ensuite produit sur des scènes du monde entier avec d'autres artistes, notamment The Head and the Heart, Young the Giant et Fitz and The Tantrums. Smith & Thell ont remporté l'Internationalen Songwriting-Wettbewerbs (ISC) avec leur chanson Goliath en 2021. Biographie de Smith & Thell
Maria Smith and Victor Thell met one another as young teenagers at a local music event in their hometown of Helsingborg (Southern Sweden). Since then, they have become one of the most sought after songwriter / producer duos in the world, garnering over 2 Billion streams to date on songs they've performed, written and produced. As a multi-platinum band, Smith & Thell have 2 consecutive #1s at Swedish radio (and 4 consecutive top 5 singles), a top 25 US Alternative Radio hit, have accumulated 200 million streams, and have toured alongside Young The Giant, The Head and The Heart, and Fitz and the Tantrums. In 2020, Maria and Victor won the Swedish Grammy for Songwriter of the Year and were also nominated for the Swedish Government's Export Music Awards.
