Biographie de Swampgrass

Swampgrass are 5 people brought together by singer Sharon Honeywell – while resting from her day to day as an art ingenue – and guitar mangler Brad Lister – while on hiatus from being made redundant at companies near and far. They play blues because it’s the closest genre that is consistently listed in the online uploaders at radio stations and festivals. More accurately it’s a hard grooving, song based, high energy music that covers topics like corporate slavery, narcissism, family issues, desire and good old fashioned greed. Blues, right?

There’s no crying into your pint at a Swampgrass show though. You’re more likely to spill it jumping about or, even better, give it to this thirsty band in between songs. So if 15 minute guitar solo’s and hour long slow blues jams are what you’re expecting be prepared to be energetically surprised. And hungover. Really, really hungover.

Released on March 5th, 2016, the band’s first album “One Eye Open” seeks to capture the energy of the live set which you can enjoy in the comfort and relative safety of your own home. It’s probably safer if you have a few friends over when you listen. They could even bring some drinks.

Based in Glastonbury, the heart of Somersetshire, Swampgrass are: Sharon Honeywell – Vocals; Brad Lister – Guitar; Dru Franks – Drums; Andy Barnett – Bass; and Al Cosnett – Harmonica.
