Biographie de Gibonni
Zlatan Stipišić Gibonni is a Croatian singer, musician and composer from Split.
Born in a family with strong musical tradition (his father, Ljubo Stipišić is well known composer), Zlatan Stipišić, who later embraced the nickname Gibonni, began his career in 1980s in a heavy metal band Osmi Putnik.
Gibonni switched to solo career in 1990s with songs that were combining elements of rock, modern pop and Dalmatian folk songs. He soon created huge following, especially among Croatian youth.
However, despite that, Gibonni's popularity continued to grow beyond Croatia and he is currently one of the most popular and influential musicians in the territories of former Yugoslavia.
One of the most famous songs written by Gibonni is "Cesarica". "Cesarica" is a song that he wrote for Oliver Dragojević, and which was very big hit, and became Croatian evergreen.
In 2003 Zlatan Stipišić was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Gibonni has three children. Daughter Tanja born in 1986. Son Rando was born in 1998. It is believed that his name Rando-> short from random comes from Gibonni's undeterminacy to give him a name. That undeterminacy is shown again in August of 2005, when his third child was born, and for time being (02.2006) he still haven't named him.
Gibonni released his long awaited new album "Unca Fibre" on the 20th of May this year. After a five year period since his award winning album "Mirakul", critics and fans alike are delighted with his new masterpiece.
