Biographie de Samuli Edelmann
Samuli Casimir Edelmann (born July 21 1968 in Pori, Finland) is a Finnish actor and singer.
Formerly an actor, Edelmann became famous also as a singer in the beginning of 1990's. The breakthrough happened with the song "Pienestä kii" in 1991. That was followed with an Eurovision song contest candidate "Peggy" the same year. In 1994 one of the year's most succesful songs was "Tuhat yötä" which was a duet with Sani of Aikakone. Edelmann has sung duets also with Mikko Kuustonen, Laura Närhi, Cata Mansikka-Aho, Mari Rantasila, and Irina Björklund. Some of Edelmann's best known songs are "(Sinä olet) Aurinko" (often mistakenly known as "Ihana valo"), "Kaikki tahtoo" and "Karavaanari".
A bit more ambitious music Edelmann has recorded on the album Vaiheet which includes music written by his father Toni Edelmann, with lyrics based in writings of Hesse, Goethe, Shakespeare and Denisov.
During his career Samuli Edelmann has won three Emma awards: once "The male newcomer of the year" Emma, and twice "The artist of the year" Emma. With three platinum and gold records he is among the Finland's most succesful male artists.
