Biographie de 74th Street Band
“It’s no wonder 74th Street Band is the busiest band in Arizona.” Lauri Svendsen, Marshall Creative Media
Lauri’s quote pretty much sums up the 74th Street Band. Playing well over 100 shows a year, these boys are well accustomed to hard work and the thrill they get from their efforts can be seen in their on-stage performance.
Well known as Arizona’s Hottest Southern Rockers, 74th Street Band burns up stages like the Arizona sun. Based out of Phoenix, Arizona, these boys are anything but a local band. Touring all over the southwest and beyond, 74th Street Band are regional favorites. The band consists of guitarists Randy Clark and Robert Pettycrew who’ve been friends since childhood. Along with Lyle Engle (bass) and Matt O’Brien (drums), they have been raising eyebrows with their energetic live performances since 2007.
“74th Street's contribution to the Dierks Bentley Miles and Music For Kids benefit for Phoenix Chidlren's Hospital was very much appreciated. Over $200,000 was raised and the event was a resounding success!” Webmaster, http://www.dierks.com
In addition to headlining festivals like the Cherry Creek Music Festival, Sugar Pine Ranch Rally, Laughlin River Run Wild Ass Ride, and Volkstock, they have performed on EVB Live (television) and appeared as direct support for Leon Russell, Paul Rodgers, Eddie Money, Molly Hatchet and Jimmie Van Zant at events such as the Tempe Block Party, Mesa Celebration of Freedom, Arizona Bike Week Cyclefest, Chester's HD Rocktoberfest and the Thunder Valley Ride, among others. They also get involved with a number of annual benefit events including Dierk's Bentley's Miles and Music for Kids, USMC Toys for Tots and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer events, to name a few.
“After their excellent show at Cyclefest 2009, we were thrilled to have 74th Street back in 2011. As expected, they rocked the joint harder than ever!” Ed Leclere, Arizona Bike Week
With influences such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws, Blackberry Smoke and ZZ Top, their renditions of southern rock classics has earned them a dedicated and fast growing fan base. Blending in classics by Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix, newer hits by the likes of Black Country Communion and Velvet Revolver, and country greats such as Johnny Cash, Toby Keith and Dwight Yokum, they appeal to a wide variety of audiences. From a heartfelt ballad like Simple Man to the driving force of Slither, these boys can rock with the best.
