The Claudettes fuse Chicago piano blues with the full throttle energy of rockabilly and punk and the sultriness of 60s soul to write a thrilling new chapter in American roots music. Johnny Iguana pounds the piano along side seductive singer Berit Ulseth, bassist/guitarist/singer Zach Verdoorn and drummer Michael Caskey.Johnny, who toured for years with his cult favorite rock band oh my god, is also in the Grammy nominated groups Chicago Blues: A Living History and the Muddy Waters 100 Band. He has toured/recorded with Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush and more and played piano on the new Chicago Plays the Stones album featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Buddy Guy.The Claudettes recorded their 2018 album DANCE SCANDAL AT THE GYMNNASIUM! (Yellow Dog Records) with Grammy winning producer Mark Neill (BlackKeys, Old 97s, J. Roddy Walston, J.D. McPherson). The Claudettes have recorded a new album with Grammy winning producer Ted Hutt (Violent Femmes, Lucero, Old Crow Medicine Show, Gaslight Anthem, The Devil Makes Three). It will come out in early 2020

Biographie de The Claudettes
Wielding a one-of-a-kind, piano-powered roots-pop sound, the Claudettes merge earthy blues and soul with pop hooks and punk spirit, writing an intriguing new chapter in American roots music. Pianist/songwriter Johnny Iguana formed the Claudettes with drummer Michael Caskey, exciting listeners with the barrelhouse bravura of their 2013 debut "Infernal Piano Plot…HATCHED!" Another Yellow Dog Records release followed in 2015 featuring Nigerian-American singer Yana: "No Hotel." Vocalist Berit Ulseth joined the band for two more releases on Yellow Dog Records: "Pull Closer to Me: Live in the Piano Room" (2017) and "Dance Scandal at the Gymansium" (2018, helmed by Grammy-winning Black Keys producer Mark Neill).
A new Claudettes era began when the band moved to Forty Below Records and released the acclaimed 2020 album "High Times in the Dark" (produced Grammy winner Ted Hutt) and 2022's "The Claudettes Go Out!," another collaboration with Hutt, with mixing by renowned producer Kevin Killen (U2, Elvis Costello, David Bowie). Now, the Claudettes continue to evolve as they introduce a breathtaking new vocalist from Texas, Rachel Williams. Expect new music, videos and lots of tour dates in 2023!
