Biographie de Deva Yoder

Born and raised in the midwest, Deva (Day-vah) Yoder has always been involved and enveloped in music creation and community. She grew up in a house with frequent exposure to creative minds and musicians, sometimes crossing paths with someone who played with Neil Young or wrote songs for Fleetwood Mac. As she entered high school she fell in love with strong women performers like Suzanne Vega, PJ Harvey and Cinder Block of the band, Tilt, and taught herself to play guitar with Beatles books, while singing with a strong, entrancing voice. As she has matured musically, she has found inspiration in Patty Griffin, Over The Rhine, and Miranda Lee Richards. Strumming her acoustic guitar, she writes heartfelt Americana/indie-folk-rock songs with a touch of 60’s throwback psychedelia and alt-country, maintaining inspiration from her evolving spiritual journey while keeping a scrappy, DIY attitude. Her recent singles have been shared around the globe as well as online radio in The States, South America and the UK. She has had three songs featured on Colorado Public Radio and was named one of the top ten badass female musicians of Denver by Westword magazine. Finding inspiration in authors like Kahlil Gibran and Rainer Maria Rilke, she continues on her spiritual, musical path as the songwriter and front woman of her own Deva Yoder Band. Listen to her self-produced full album, Storm Chasers, and keep an eye out for new album, Be Well, due out in May of 2023.
