Biographie de Nick Flora

“Like a shark attack with t-shirts in the back” Nick Flora belts with faux hubris in "Presence Of Greatness" the opening track from his sophomore release Hello Stranger. But like all good uses of hyperbole, there is a truth to the claim.

Hailing from Nashville, TN, Flora has been writing and recording his specific brand of alterna-pop for the better part of a decade. Known for weaving quick wit with elemental truths in song that speak to the core of the human condition, Flora has crafted a live performance that’s altogether intimate and unforgettable along with cultivating an online community of fans that have come to expect the unexpected.

Recording his first three solo efforts, Great Escape (2009), Hello Stranger (2011), and The Reintroduction Of Nick Flora (2013) with esteemed producer Andrew Osenga, Flora has shown that he’s not afraid of stretching his artistic legs and with each release, showcasing different examples of dynamic, heart, and humor.

Flora’s upcoming release Futureboy (Fall 2015) boasts a bold step forward with a sound that’s fresh yet familiar. “I always ask myself what side of my artistic personality have people not experienced, then what would surprise old fans and interest new ones to taking a peek inside, then I get to work." Flora states about working on Futureboy, "I love dodging expectation, painting myself into a corner then finding a side exit to get out. It keeps people interested and engaged, keeps it fun."

Pulling influences from artists such as power-pop favorites such as Phantom Planet, Jenny Lewis, and Coconut Records, Futureboy shows that the quirky and left-of-center pop/rock can be just as fun, accessible, and infectious as its Top 40 counterparts.
