Biographie de Wingtips

...a throbbing head full of ecstasy outside the goth club, hi-hats like goosebumps as your crush paints your eyes black to match their own, and fluorescent guitar glimmers of desire – even hope – edging out through the apathy of the bleakest horizon.

WINGTIPS was officially formed in 2014 by Vincent Segretario after informally having used the moniker for a number of previous experimental solo performances. In 2015 they self-released "Ultravision" – a collection of demos recorded at home. The title track from Ultravision, was featured in the TBS television series, "Search Party".

Their most recent release, "GREYAREA", is an androgynous sound of transition. An interpolation of darkly shimmering layers of angular guitar and pulsating darkwave, the EP sharpens their anthemic rush with an increasing penchant for melody and an atmosphere equally informed by post-punk as sweeping electronica. The twin pantheons of synthpop and classic VG music are invoked as familiar textures singularly assured by Vincent's soaring voice. With this release, Hannah Avalon moves from live member to creative collaborator, contributing to the ethereal come up of “Glass" and the ecstatic lullaby of closer, “Wading." Prior to WINGTIPS, Segretario and Avalon worked together in projects ranging from anarcho-punk bands to musical theatre, and their language has remained fluent across that entire gamut.

Greyarea nods to the John Hughes OST aesthetic, but surpasses it by contextualizing new romantic for the post-millenial end times. Their hooks are so compelling they are cinematic in scope. WINGTIPS' new single, “Relativity,” arrives this summer. It’s the culmination of everything they have worked towards so far – a perfect summer dream anthem for all the outsiders...

Recently, WINGTIPS have supported bands such as FRONT 242, ZOLA JESUS, THE TWILIGHT SAD, MARTIAL CANTEREL, and many more.
