Biographie de Viridian

From Vancouver, British Columbia, Viridian is an alternative indie duo comprised of Michael Di Spirito and Danielle Davie. While Di Spirito primarily plays the guitar, he also plays a wide variety of instruments proficiently, including the keyboard and drums. Davie, the lyricist and vocalist for Viridian, has extensive experience performing and song-writing. Together they form Viridian. The pair are currently in the midst of writing, recording, and producing their first LP in their home studio.

Since 2015, Viridian has released four singles, “Campfire Song”, “Withdrawal”, “The Playground” and “IV”. Each single reflects a stage in the formative years of Viridian’s history. All four singles are available to stream and download on SoundCloud; “IV” is also available on all major streaming services. In February 2017, Viridian released the “IV” music video – their first music video release – on YouTube and Facebook, which since its release, has garnered over 4,800 views and streams.

Now two years since their formation, and with four singles under their belt, Viridian has begun work on their debut LP. Viridian’s new sound is intricate, dark and hopeful. Delicate vocals work with ambient synths to provide textures and layers of sounds. Through irregular forms and changing signatures, Di Spirito’s guitar work continues to thread songs together and provide stability to their pieces. As noted by The Permanent Rain Press in February of 2017, “Davie’s alluring tone and Di Spirito’s guitar lines make a fine pair – calming and ethereal. Subtle production elements add warmth and a depth to their music”.
