Biographie de Chris Dalla Riva
While based in Boston, Chris Dalla Riva's sound is akin to Jersey Shore rock, the music the New Jersey native grew up with. Working with trumpeter Peter Julian and drummer Andrew Hammond, Dalla Riva's songwriting attempts to combine sweet doo-wop melodies of the 50s with the raucous sounds of pre-Beatles rock n' roll. Playing with a rotating troupe of musicians throughout high school, Dalla Riva met Julian freshman year of college during a free bebop jazz class that was offered on Monday nights. Coming from starkly different musical backgrounds, Dalla Riva and Julian proved an unlikely match and began playing together throughout Boston as a guitar-trumpet duo. Through a mutual friend they met Andrew Hammond, who began to sit in on drums and helped them produce the songs they'd been playing for over a year. Two years together, the band has worked Boston's music scene, playing short acoustic sets, and late-night, marathon bar sets of covers and originals. The band has been described as small-band rock at its finest and AnR scout Robal Johnson wrote of their debut single: "It caught me off guard and I thought it was a cover at first, but then it sucked me in and I can not stop listening on repeat.”
