The Liberation

The Liberation is a 4 piece Alternative/Rock band from Staten Island, New York. They are 4 hardworking musicians who aspire to put everything they have into their music, always trying to deliver a great show to their fans. Currently, they are in the process of trying to write enough original material to put out and EP, and really make a name for themselves within the New York music scene. Keep checking this page for more details about shows, music, and updated information! The idea for The Liberation was formed in January of 2011. That February, the band was formed with John Fitzpatrick, Joey Hynes, Mike Acquesta, and Jon Hopkins. Of those four, only Joey remains. Later, the band was joined by Mike DiDomenico, James Boland, and Jack Hynes. After beginning to write original material on their own, and growing frustrated with their practicing conflicts, the band agreed to their first show. The show was a success, and they were the highest paid band of the night. Shortly after the first show, the band's lineup changed yet again, making the final, permanent rotation James Boland on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Mike DiDomenico on lead guitar, Joey Hynes on bass and vocals and Jack Hynes on drums. The band continued to enjoy success with playing local shows, and are continuing to write original material. The Liberation has garnished respect from several outisde musicians and promoters, and are hoping to gather enough original material to record their EP.
