James and The Ultrasounds

James and The Ultrasounds is Rock and Roll band from Memphis,Tennessee. Their sound is a blend of garage rock,vintage country,punk and surf music, as well Memphis staples ranging from Sun to Stax Records. Led by notable Memphis musician James Godwin, The Ultrasounds have released two full length albums on Memphis' Madjack Records, as well as singles on Misspent Records, another Memphis label. The band has gained notoriety in the U.S. as well as in the U.K. and mainland Europe after numerous tours for each release. Live performances have drawn critical acclaim, garnering comparisons of Godwin to such Memphis royalty as Alex Chilton and Jack Oblivian. Generally backed by a rotating cast of some of Memphis' finest, James and The Ultrasounds are not to be missed.
