Biographie de Pete MacLeod

Pete MacLeod is a Scottish singer/songwriter with a knack for thoughtful, melodic music. Raised in the small mining town of Coatbridge, Scotland, MacLeod was heavily influenced by the music of Buddy Holly, The Beatles, John Lennon and The Rolling Stones. Throughout the 2000's, he independently released a string of singles, EP's and albums on his own record label. He spent several years living in California before returning to Scotland to release the EP "Glasgow Keeps Me Real, California Let's Me Heal" in early 2013. The EP was well-received and the song 'Rolling Stone' was chosen as the single of the month on BBC Radio Scotland. MacLeod's music soon caught the attention of Creation Records founder Alan McGee, who signed the artist to his newly launched 359 Music label. In late 2013, MacLeod released the Rolling Stone LP, his debut for 359. 2015 MacLeod started working on his follow up LP with acclaimed producer YOUTH, (The Verve, Primal Scream, Pink Floyd, Crowded House). James McCartney, Son of The Beatles Paul McCartney, plays guitar on the album, as does The Verve and Gorillaz guitarist Simon Tong. The new LP titled Crestfallen was released in 2016 on MacLeod's own Stepping Stone Music label, distributed by London based label Cherry Red Records. Janice Long (BBC Radio 2) championed the album playing the first single 'Crestfallen' a record 14 times on her show. A first for any artist on Janice's show. Pete also performed an acoustic session for BBC Radio Scotland for the Janice Forsyth show. Following the release of Pete's 2nd album MacLeod signed a publishing deal with Wardlaw Music. MacLeod then went on to promote the album by opening touring and supporting legendary Manchester act The Happy Mondays. As well as supporting The Happy Mondays MacLeod has also opened, toured and supported Jesus And Mary Chain, Cast, Ocean Colour Scene, Shed Seven, Midge Ure, Amy Macdonald and The Strypes. Pete MacLeod has also been joined on stage for separate tours with musicians and guitarists such as Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller, The Specials), Bonehead (Oasis), Rab Allan (Glasvegas) and Josh McClorey (The Strypes). Pete is currently working on his third and new solo album. Due for release in 2018.
