Opening act was entirely forgettable. Climate Pledge was less than half full five minutes before AF took the stage. A beautiful piano solo started things off. Great energy and skill from several band members got the show off to a positive, if not awesome start. With the cloud hanging over the band and a skeptical crowd, the show’s outcome hung in the balance. But professionalism and that amazing AF energy overcame the obstacles and the band and the crowd lifted each other to a frenzied and greatly enjoyable crescendo. Drummer, Jeremy Gara, multi player Richard Reed Perry and most of all, Regine really lifted the band and the crowd. Who knows what the future holds, but I’m really glad I was able to attend this show.

Their debut album Funeral – widely hailed as one of the most important albums of the ‘00s – combined cathartic confrontation of tragedy and life-affirming celebration of love, hope and band members’ Haitian roots. The album has been named the #1 album of the ‘00s by Rolling Stone & has topped Best of the Decade lists from NME, Q, Pitchfork, The Guardian, Mojo and more.
