A propos de Ian Munro

Since emerging on to the bass scene in 2014, New Zealander Ian Munro continues to be regarded as one of the most diverse and forward-thinking producers in the scene. Under the eye of label boss and trap founding father UZ, Ian Munro has gone on to capture respect from the likes of Skrillex, Alison Wonderland & Hardwell whilst carving out his own signature.

The buzz began in October 2016; with his debut EP ‘Stay Lit’ for Quality Goods featuring a Spotify Top 50 Viral track. 2017 saw an official remix of seminal dubstep anthem ‘Sierra Leone’ from Mt. Eden through Ultra Music; with it flying to the Number 1 spot on Hype Machine in its release week, some strong Triple J, BBC & Beats 1 radio support & a Dim Mak Records release to only mention a few. Ian Munro has rounded off a seriously successful year with a reworking of UZ’s ‘Bad Gurlz’ ft. OG Maco, which featured on the official ‘Layers’ remix LP.

A debut headline tour across Australia and New Zealand, shows in LA, an appearance at SXSW & prestigious festivals such as Rhythm & Vines have taken Ian Munro further into the spotlight in 2018. After a switch up in sound, he self-released new works and dropped ‘Fever Dream’ single as a precursor to his next body of tunes. ‘Violence’ ft. Bijou Dream landed a spot on the bitbird compilation release followed closely by his long awaited sophomore EP "Liminal" - a Quality Goods Records release. With regards to the EP - the artist reflects: "This whole process has been about getting back in touch with my intentions as an artist. It can all be so fleeting — so ephemeral. I wanted to give you something to hold on to. Something to fall apart to. To fall in love to. Something to feel"
