A propos de Ylamar
Ylamar is a trio that was born in 2013 out of the collaboration between the singer songwriter Ilaria Lorefice (vocals and acoustic guitar), the vocalist and beatboxer Marco Forgione and the keyboarder Fabio Donatelli.
Their original songs are performed by two voices working in perfect synergy, supported by the chemistry of the vocal percussion and the acoustic guitar. The effect is enhanced by the captivating, embracing tones of keyboard and piano. Ylamar's sound inherently contains an evocative message that attempts to speak directly to the human consciousness. The songs, written by Ilaria, are inspired by an introspective analysis of emotions, brought out to be made good.
As past members of the international a capella group, the Albert Hera Quintet, (soprano and tenor respectively) Ilaria and Marco have worked together for many years, ranging over vocal improvisation, crossover jazz and world music. Ylamar started out by winning Tavarock 2014 and they were awarded the right to open for the famous Italian artist Francesco Sarcina (ex Vibrazioni) in Tavagnasco (Turin).
On 17 July 2015, after two years of experimentation, live performances in Turin, and busking around the streets of Italy, they issued their first official EP "Jumping in the Water", consisting of four tracks. With their first single in Italian, La Valigia, they won a national music competition and opened for the great Italian songwriter Max Gazzè at the Flowers Festival in Collegno (Turin).
In May of 2016, with numerous engagements in Italian venues already to their credit, they flew to the UK to take part in Folked Up!, a musical event in London. In July, their fame spread to France, through Ilaria's solo tour.
During the summer of 2016, after a well-received performance in Silent Concert at the Miscela Rock Festival in Ivrea (Turin), Ylamar were invited to participate in the prestigious Italian Festival "Collisioni", where many big artists from all over the world played.
Their single "Jumping in the Water" was the soundtrack of the San Giorgio International Exhibition of Photography in Albenga (Italy).
After a one-week tour in the UK, at the end of the summer, the band met the Italian music journalist Red Ronnie for the first time in October on the stage of the prestigious Piper Club in Rome during the FIAT MUSIC audition directed by him. After this event, Ylamar were invited to play at Red Ronnie's music shows "Il circo volante del Barone Rosso" in Bologna and at the stage of the historic "Roxybar", where a lot of famous international artists played.
Ylamar performed also on the Fiat Music stage of "Casa San Remo", the most important stage OFF during the Italian famous "San Remo Festival".
In February Ylamar signed with FIL1933, an indie label of Bergamo (Italy) and is working on the first album.
