Fantastic show! Superb band! Will Sergeant is one of the GOATs. Ian or Mac whichever version you get is incoherent at times and also Smashing! Very special to get to see Adam Peters play his cello with them, I won’t forget that for sure. Great mix of songs, would have loved to hear 1-2 tracks from Electafixion, but maybe another time. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the incredibly dark stage and blinding blue led’s facing the crowd and far too much fog. I also must include one other treat was watching guitarist Gordy Goudie “Simple Minds” rip it up..

I was honestly disappointed. The concert was supposed to start at 8:00, but the first band didn’t start until 8:30. The band was okay, but not very energetic. Then, after a long break, Echo and the Bunnymen didn’t start until 9:15. They played for a half an hour and then they took a 15 minute break before starting again. After all of these breaks, I felt let down. My husband and I go to concerts quite often, and we have never had so much empty time. As much as I enjoy their music, I will never go to see them again.

I almost missed this concert as finding parking is a nightmare. Unlike the aragon ballroom who has paid parking, the riviera does not. Residential side streets are all permit only, so figure out how to get to the venue accordingly. It was raining and cold, and I had to walk 8 blocks. That's chicago weather for you. Upon arriving at the venue, the starter band was already into their set. I ran to the merchandise counter to buy an item. Visited the WC then, was told there's no lift. 3 flights with a bad knee is rather undaunting. I was able to locate my seat and, with 15 minutes to spare, without much further fan fare. Echo and the Bunnymen appeared. The lead singer wore sunglasses during the entire set. No background graphics, except for various colored lights pulsing on and off to the music being played, the stage was foggy from the fog machines giving the stage a very dark, and eerie feel, like a foggy and misty night out walking along the english shore. The band took an extended break and then came back and played almost an hour longer. As most bands do, they briefly left, then returned and played the last two songs I longingly waited for...killing moon and lips like sugar. As with any band who's been around many moons and decades, the physical appearances of each original band member changes and oftentimes the voices and how the original song was played and how now, it's evolved. It can all come together in disappointment. It wasn't a terrible night, but, given my experience overall, I'd sit this band out going forward. Sign me.. nothing lasts forever

Show was ok. Brooklyn Steel is a good venue - but I would love to have more options of food. Show started a bit delayed, with the explanation that Ian McCulloch got laryngitis. In general, great songs, but Ian was clearly not able to sing at his best. Also, it was nearly impossible to hear what he was saying between the songs - maybe due to his accent, maybe due to the laryngitis, maybe to some strong remedies. Anyway, all the great songs were there.

Two encores, hits and quips. The Bunnymen on their home turf never disappoints. Standout moments were The Cutter and The Killing Moon. Ian is the John Lydon of Liverpool. He tells it as it is, which is always refreshing in the present day. A great night. A “People are Strange” rendition for an encore would have took the roof off the Empire though.. maybe next time…

Brilliant gig. I had read all previous reviews of this tour & the reviews weren't great. But, I saw them live & granted Mr McCullough can't hit the high notes anymore but so what, he's 40 years older! I thoroughly enjoyed it, I had a great view of them all. All the great songs, sure they didn't sing a couple of my companions favourites, but they didn't play mine we would have been there all night! Don't worry about the reviews, go see/hear for yourself. For the last two days I have been singing their songs. I thought that they were great.

The band were in fine form and the orchestra allowed the album to be played as it should be heard. The only drawback was that we were sat to the side of the stage and had a spotlight constantly in our eyes which meant we couldn't see most of the band. We got moved to a new seat for the second half of the concert. Would have been 5 stars otherwise.

I’ve seen Echo and the Bunnymen more times than I can count , always brilliant - but this one was special ! I’ve never watched a show in the Albert Hall before and it was epic ! The whole band were on top form and the acoustics in that place are just incredible , seeing the band with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra was amazing , I actually cried . Amazing to see Ocean Rain but the other set with all the faves was immense ! I couldn’t stay in my seat for Never Stop ( apologies to the people behind me) but you just have to lay down thy raincoat and groove to that one 🤷🏻‍♀️ What a night ! I don’t usually buy VIP tickets because we can’t really justify the expense , but I’d have sold my soul to the devil to see that show , it was money very well spent ! I didn’t think anything would top hearing The Killing Moon whilst being able to see the actual moon at Anfield last year when they supported the Rolling Stones — The Bunnymen continue to amaze me at every show I see , I’m not adding photos because I was so mesmerised my phone didn’t come out of my bag 😀 and that my friends , it the measure of an amazing show !

It was the night before my birthday and 40 years since I'd first seen the Bunnymen at The Royal Albert Hall. As a 12 year old insane.and danced all night, last night I sang a d sat down a lot. They were brilliant, sublime!, the best they've sounded for a long time. Ian was on good form, Will wore a tie for the Ocean Rain set, a packed Albert Hall lapped.it up. No flashy light show, minimal backdrops, just a band, one of the finest the musical world has witnessed. The first set was just.perfect, a combination of early classics and newer songs. Ocean Rain was majestic, it sounded far superior to the last orchestra tour, it was flawless, I was surrounded by happy smiling faces, old and young fans United in appreciation. The final three set encore was the perfect send off, The Cutter, my favourite song since it was released rounded my night off perfectly. Happy Birthday me and thank you Echo And The Bunnymen, and the Royal Albert Hall.

We had a great evening . The magic of Will Sergeant and Ian McCulloch is priceless ! Obviously the other band members are integral for the amazing sound . Such talent , keyboards , drums , guitars and cello , plus backing vocalist . The amazing sound of the Liverpool Royal Philharmonic orchestra was a privilege to hear , Ocean Rain is an amazing collection of songs . So happy to have attended and a fantastic memory . Thank you 🎶💕

One of my best gigs I've attended, the fact that one of my all time favorite albums was being played from start to finish, but with an orchestra too. I loved the whole concept of the bunnymen first playing Going up, Rescue, Never stop and Zimbo and still sounding so fresh. Then returning to play Oceanrain took me back to 1984 and a youthful summer, sparking so many memories. And finally returning with The cutter. The orchestra worked so well with the bunnymens music and will sergents guitar and reminded me of why I love Oceanrain and Echo and the bunnymen.

Echo and the bunnymen played 2 sets on Thursday night the first set was a greatest. Hits set including rescue nothing everl lasts forever and ending the first set with bring on the dancing horses the secon set featured the Liverpool royal philharmonic orchestra and the album ocean rain being played in full highlights being silver killing moon and ocean rain the encore was band only playing lips like sugar and the cutter a brilliant concert. 🌃🌉

Ian's voice is scratchy and he's not able to hit every note, but he put forth a tremendous effort and at times you could imagine the Mac of 1981. Will on the other hand was fantastic and the backing band was great, too, even if Pete DeFreitas and Les Pattinson could never be replaced. Three encores of one song each with long waits between each was kind of strange, but I was happy to cheer for long periods for a band that's brought me great joy for over 4 decades.

The band sounded great, and I liked the song selection. They also did a Lou Reed/Velvet Underground medley they was a nice surprise. But Ian McCulloch seemed to be sick. His singing deteriorated as the show progressed, and he sat down most of the show. He lacked energy. Of course, it wasn't his fault, but I think it would have been better to postpone.

My wife and I went to the Salt Lake City show last night. We followed the band through reviews from the beginning so we knew the performance would be all about how Ian was feeling. We may have gotten the best show of the tour so far!! Ian was out for the entire show without having to leave the stage. Dude standing next to me said he saw them about 6 years ago and said the show last night was the better of the two. I thought he was amazing. He bantered with the crowd and at one point was joking about himself doing a bad Irish impersonation. He joked tongue in cheek with us on one of our "sing-a-longs" that is he was impressed that 10 of us knew the words. Compared to what I've read previously, we got Ian on his best night!

Although the band appeared low-key and singer Ian McCullough only stood away from his center-stage stool for a brief bit at the end, the audience was fully committed to dancing in the aisles, singing aloud and celebrating Echo's litany of explosive songs. This was definitely a milestone and a momentous occasion for fans. The sound was powerful and the set was perfectly orchestrated in the gorgeous and packed art deco theater. Unforgettable.

Overall amazing. Loved it! Band was tight and on point. Couldnt understand a word when Ian was talking but i found this entertaining. Thot he phoned it in a bit on Lips and Killing Moon w a few too many passes to the audience to sing. But again, great show. Special thx to the guy next to me who voluntarily brought me ear plugs. My hero.

They sounded amazingly although they took two 5 minute breaks in between the show which they told us it was for technical issues. I was disappointed with some of the crowd because it seemed like about 3/4s of the audience were sitting for the entire show. I’ve never seen such a lethargic crowd before at a rock concert. Glad I got to see Echo again though it’s been awhile.

Good as always but the tiny, cramped seats didn't make it easy to stand or dance, and this is the kind of place where you can't stand unless people behind you are also willing to stand, especially in the balcony. I hope the fact that the audience was listening raptly rather that bouncing about didn't make Ian and the band think they weren't appreciated- very much the opposite!

A great night of classic music and epic tracks all delivered with all the original feel you would want for such great songs.The sound was amazing for such a venue and immersed us in the full "Bunnymen" experience.Ian was a confident veteran whose voice still has the original edge that leads some of the best songs ever written and serenaded a crowd that absorbed it all with obvious enthusiasm.The only question left is why they were never bigger than they were as their music and Ian's character have what it takes and then some!
