Oswald 'Baba' Brooks was a exceptionally talented Jamaican trumpeter who also acted as musical arranger throughout the early sixties and was also frequently employed in both capacities by a number of other Kingston-based producers, most notably, Prince Buster, Richard Khouri, Justin Yap and both, Lynden and Sonia Pottinger. Whilst not achieving personal fame or the recognition he deserved any follower of Jamaican music of the 1960s or followers of Northern Soul will be familier with his distinctive sound.
