John Dolan, known to the masses as DJ Dolo, has been rocking dance floors across the country and beyond for over ten years. His diverse cultural upbringing helped craft an understanding, appreciation, and working knowledge of every genre of music, which allows him to perform over 300 shows a year for a wide range of audiences. From intimate celebrity parties to entertaining crowds of thousands, DJ Dolo prides himself on catering each event to the uniqueness of the client and/or crowd. As the resident DJ for nightlife powerhouse Top Shelf Entertainment, Dolo maintains full-type employment playing music. He currently holds a “happy hour” residency at Julep Bar, the upscale hotspot for the “who’s who” of Boston’s Financial District, where everyday from 5- 8pm he spins a mix of laid-back funk, jazz, house, and older classics to set the mood. By nighttime, the vibe becomes high-energy as he makes his way to one of his several bi-weekly New England residencies, including West End Johnnies, Whiskey Republic (Providence), and the club set at Julep Bar. He may spin anything from a strictly house set, to Top 40, rock ‘n roll, hip hop or a mix thereof, depending on the specific calling of the event. Every other weekend is spent traveling to various cities across the country for guest performances. Over the last year, he headlined at clubs in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York City, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Dominican Republic, Jacksonville, and the famous annual “South by Southwest” event in Austin, Texas with DJs from all over the world. Through his travels over the years, Dolo has found himself performing for A-list celebrities including Paris Hilton, Taylor Swift, Drake, J Cole, Tracy Morgan, Tom Brady, Fabolous, Jenna Jameson, Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, Chris Evans, Rick Ross, T-Pain, and Mark Cuban. He has been sought-out to perform private celebrity events and functions for Taylor Swift, nightlife mogul Jesse Waits, MLB all-stars Jason Varitek, David Ortiz and Jonathan Papelbon, the New England Patriots, and dozens of other pop culture magnates. He has collaborated professionally with Reverend Run, DJ Skribble, Sam Adams, DJ Revolution, DJ Irie, Stretch Armstrong, Ski Beatz, Fatman Scoop, among others. His music, along with that of his collaborative group “The Reachers” has been featured on several blogs and popular DJ sites such as DJCity.com and RemixReport.com.
