10-time IBMA award-winning bluegrass roots music artist Becky Buller fiddles like her
hair is on fire and writes a mean song, too.

Her accolades include 2015 IBMA Songwriter, 2016 IBMA Fiddler and Female Vocalist
(first person to win dual awards in these categories), and 2020 IBMA Song of the Year.
The song cycle, Jubilee, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Chart in June of
2024. A 2023 inductee into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame and a 2026 inductee into
the St. James (MN) Arts Hall of Fame, she was awarded the 2025 Distinguished
Achievement Award in the Arts from the East Tennessee State University (ETSU)
Alumni Association.

Becky and her band have appeared numerous times on WSM's Grand Ole Opry. She
tours extensively with her group, in a duo with Banjo Hall of Famer Ned Luberecki, and
as a solo artist. Becky’s songs have been featured on GRAMMY-winning albums by
Molly Tuttle (2023), The Travelin’ McCourys (2019), and The Infamous Stringdusters
(2018).

A prolific songwriter, Becky, has recorded eight solo albums, stacked almost exclusively
with her own chart-topping material. Most of these are on the Dark Shadow Recording
label, including Jubilee, a song cycle about her mental health journey, which was
commissioned by the FreshGrass Foundation for debut at their 2023 Bentonville, AR,
festival, and Songs That Sing Me (2025), Becky’s first all-covers album that celebrates
her musical heroes, reached #1 on the Roots Music Report in March 2026 and has over
330,000 streams on Spotify.

She also moonlights with the all-female supergroup, The First Ladies of Bluegrass,
comprising the first women to win IBMA awards in their respective instrumental
categories. This group features Alison Brown (banjo), Missy Raines (bass), Sierra Hull
(mandolin), Becky (fiddle), and Molly Tuttle (guitar). The band’s performances include
the 2019 Telluride Bluegrass Festival and the 2019 Newport Folk Festival as part of a
historic all-female Saturday night headline set curated by Brandi Carlile. Steve Martin
asked the band to perform during a run of comedy shows with Martin Short in January
2020.

Equally passionate about music education, Becky teaches privately from her music
studio in Manchester, TN, and at workshops and camps worldwide. She also serves as
Adjunct Professor of Roots Music Marketing at ETSU, her alma mater.
Becky is originally from St. James, MN, and now makes her home in Manchester, TN
with her husband, their daughter, and two cats.
