A propos de Transience

Transience
Blending intricate musicianship with raw energy, Transience have carved out a name for themselves in the progressive rock and metal scene. With a sound that pushes boundaries, they’ve shared the stage with some of the genre’s finest, including The Contortionist (USA), The Ocean (Germany), Starset (USA), SikTh (UK), Caligula’s Horse, and more.
Emerging in 2012, Transience quickly made waves with their electrifying, genre-defying live performances. Their self-titled 2013 EP was met with critical acclaim, with The Undertow describing it as "a perfect fit within the Aussie atmosphere of bands such as Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, and Breaking Orbit." The EP’s success led to a national tour, appearances at Showdown, Creepshow, and St Kilda Festivals, and performances alongside some of Australia’s top heavy acts.
Following this momentum, 2014 saw the band enter the studio to craft their debut album, Temple—a record that showcases their dynamic songwriting and collaborations with some of Melbourne’s most talented musicians. Produced and mixed by Phil Threlfall (The Base Studios) and mastered by Acle Kahney (TesseracT, 4D Sounds), the album offers an immersive journey through haunting melodies and crushing heaviness. Released in 2015, Temple was met with praise, with HeavyMag calling it "good enough to become a landmark in Aussie progressive heavy rock" and ranking it among the top albums of the year. A national tour followed, further cementing their reputation.
Transience continued to evolve, recording their 2016 single, Ocean, with acclaimed producer Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood (Periphery) at Echidna Studios after Periphery’s Australian tour. The track saw the band venture into darker, heavier territory, expanding upon their already dynamic sound.
Their 2018 single, Words, mixed by Phil Threlfall and mastered by Jamie King (The Basement Studios), solidified their sonic identity, proving that Transience remain one of Australia’s most compelling forces in progressive music.
After a brief hiatus, Transience have returned to the studio to work on their sophomore album, currently in production with George Lever (G1 Productions) and featuring vocal production by Chris Lilac. With a new chapter on the horizon, the band is set to push their sound even further, delivering their most ambitious music yet.
