A propos de Hiroshima Hearts

Formed in 2012, Hiroshima Hearts has established itself as a unique and popular part of London’s thriving indie music scene. The band’s original music is a thumping mix of its members’ influences – everything from punk and metal to alternative rock, jazz, and country. The end product is a big sound built on sing-along melodies, vocal harmonies, and huge guitar riffs, with a heavy blues edge. The band’s new EP, Bone Music, takes its sound and songwriting to a new level. Recorded at EMAC Studios in London as part of the band’s win in the FREE 98.1 FM ‘Made in London’ contest, it features five songs that showcase its slamming blues grind (‘Pistol’, ‘Spend Your Money’), hard rock punch (‘Four Steps Down’, ‘Fool Me Twice’), and epic harmonies (‘Take Over Me’). As always, the songs provide a perfect platform for powerhouse singer Jenn Marino’s huge rock and roll voice. Marino and the rest of the band – Kimi Maruoka (vocals/percussion), Michael Del Vecchio (bass), Tyler Turek (guitar), and John Huff (drums/vocals) – are excited to keep up the momentum that started with the release of their self-titled debut CD in 2015. In addition to reaching #1 on local indie radio charts, the record helped the band win the Airwaves Favourite Award at the 2015 Radio Western Music Awards, and earn a 2016 Jack Richardson Music Award nomination in the Rock category. They were nominated for a second time in 2017. Hiroshima Hearts is a fixture in London music clubs. The band has also performed beyond their home base, with frequent shows in Windsor, Toronto, Hamilton, Sarnia, St. Thomas, and other centres. They have had the privilege of opening for bands including One Bad Son, The Lazys, The Temperance Movement, Finger Eleven, and Nazareth, among others. With Bone Music out, they are heading out there again, bringing their dirty blues and dancing shoes to audiences everywhere! Riffin', slammin', groovin' rock and roll. Raise 'em high, people!
