Hold was formed by Miro S. Kontio and Joel Castrén in spring 2013. Guys wanted to create some new music, still influenced by heavy crunchy giants, such as Black Sabbath, Audioslave amongst many others. They started to find their sound with some known cover songs, but really soon guys discovered their own way to express the music. They only needed few old riffs, attitude and chemistry. Back in those days they already realized; groove and sound comes out from artists and instruments, not from studio ticks and playback reels. To fill the hole in the grinding groove section, guys started to look for suitable bass player. Some technical players were tested, until Teemu Vähä-Mäkilä came along. He filled all three major requirement; Technical player with groove & relentless personality. Now this trio were ready to make preparations for their first studio recording sessions. Two songs were recorded (Comprehension, Twisted) in November 2013 at Cloneworks studios, Siuntio Finland. All were satisfied with the result, but the singer was still the missing link. They were looking for something new and powerful and in a same time someone, who could handle composing, lyrics and right kind of final kick and angle for songs. Singers were tested, both male and female. Different styles of performing and singing were included, but last clue between band and singer candidates were missing. In August 2014 band got an e-mail from Mika Lindberg. He wrote to be interested for Hold´s music. Mika did vocals and lyrics at his own studio beforehand and it was easy to make judgements about the performance. Soon after that Mika finally joined the band. October 2014 was really busy; Band made their first video, published Facebook site and released their first two songs. By those achievements they started to complete the set list for their first gig. In May 2015 Hold recorded their first EP "Presence" at SMF Studios with Sampsa Astala, including a cover version of Audioslave´s song "Cochise". Presence was released in a bandcamp and YouTube in November 2015. Hold is now ready to start to record their first full length album.
