A propos de No Scope

When five friends come together to share their love of music, magical things can happen. North
Carolina pop/punk quintet No Scope is no exception. From the small town of Winston-Salem,
Brad (rhythm guitar, vocals), AJ (lead vocals), and Mykel (bass) connected over their
shared love of the early 2000s emo scene: a time when Drive-Thru records was booming,
Warped Tour was touring the country, and MySpace was the best platform for music discovery.
After being in various musical projects spanning both folk and acoustic genres, they decided to
go back to their roots and write the types of songs they were blasting in their childhood
bedrooms. After adding drummer Thomas and guitarist Cody to the lineup, No Scope was born.
The band’s first release was a cover of “Maps” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs in 2021. Following this
post-hardcore rendition was their original composition, “Sucks To Be You But That’s Pretty
Cool,” which shows the development of their sound since their formation. With the help of Aim
High’s Caleb Brown coproducing their tracks, the band continues to blend the different colors of
2000s music into their own—but with a refreshing new take.
Opening for scene staples such as The Early November and The Movielife, No Scope shows no
signs of slowing down in 2023. So follow their musical journey and head to a show to taste the
true emo nostalgia you’ve been looking for.
