A propos de Engineers

Engineers are a British rock/dream pop band, comprised of Simon Phipps (vocals/guitars), Mark Peters (vocals/guitars), Dan McBean (guitars/keyboard) and Sweeney (drums) formed in London, United Kingdom in March 2003. The band's sound is often described as a mixture of psychedelia, shoegaze and post-rock, with influences including Slowdive, The Beta Band, and Pink Floyd, though they themselves claim their influences range from Cocteau Twins, and Brian Eno, to Todd Rundgren, Spiritualized and Curtis Mayfield.

With the often mellow, soundscape-like feel of a number of their songs in mind, Sweeney has remarked that "We've always said if more people started taking acid we'd clean up".

They released their eponymous self-titled debut album in 2005 on Echo Records. Whilst in the process of mixing the follow up, they split with their label and the future of the band at the time of writing is uncertain.

On 4 February 2008 Mark Peters, the band's bassist, posted this message on their forum:

"Here's what's happening - The second album will be released digitally in the first half of the year. When i have a date, i'll post it. As far as splitting up goes, no we haven't, but we aren't working on a fully formed project at the moment. Some of us have been working together in various projects for around fifteen years, and at various intervals we have taken breaks from working together, but always come back together. Sorry for not having anything concrete to tell you, but that's the situation at the moment".
