A propos de Sam Laxton
Part of the new wave of British Trance music producers who emerged during the late 2010s, Sam Laxton brought an energetic and club-friendly sound with his uplifting, psy and tech, initially making his mark with hit vocal remixes on AVA Recordings. Breaking through as a top new comer in 2017, regular A State of Trance features and a growing fanbase landed him shows across the world including Luminosity Beach Festival in The Netherlands, In Trance We Trust at ADE, and a plethora of appearances across Europe and Asia including Ibiza, Ukraine, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and many more. In the space of 2 years, Sam was catapulted from club side rooms to headlining festivals and club events around the world.
Growing up near Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, United Kingdom, Sam began producing music at the age of 13 during lunch hours in his high school’s music studios. He often says that his first musical influences came from Euro-Dance and Trance radio hits around 1999 and the early 2000’s. Fast forward to 2013, when Sam signed his first Dubstep records to Philosophy Recordings and Simplify at the age of 18. In this early period of experimentation with Bass Music, Sam gained mass attention from YouTube EDM channels, resulting in his original releases trending higher than David Guetta.
After a hiatus in 2015, Sam returned with his first Trance release on Solarstone’s Pure Trance label, having learned Trance production through long-time friend Daniel Kandi. Developing his sound, influenced by Psy Trance and Tech Trance, Sam’s releases on Who’s Afraid Of 138?!, Future Sound Of Egypt and AVA Recordings fused killer stadium-sized riffs with heavy club ready basslines. This sound grabbed the attention of Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery and more, including his music in sets at Tomorrowland, EDC, Ultra Music Festival, Transmission Festival and Dreamstate.
In 2020, Sam continues to
leave no stone unturned in the world of electronic music, constantly moving his sound forward with influences across all genres past and present.
