A propos de Luke Nicholson
"All Your Dresses" is the first taste of Nicholson's new album, Shape And Sound, due out this summer. The single is available to purchase and stream now on all major digital platforms.
With its deeply personal subject matter, "All Your Dresses" displays Nicholson's pop craftsmanship at its very best. After establishing a presence in Nashville during the fall of 2015, he decided to fully take charge of his creative process on his next recording sessions, working only with co-producer Marty Skrzypchyk, with whom Nicholson played all the instruments. Mixing and mastering was handled by Howie Beck and Joao Carvalho, respectively.
"I look at this track as my artistic fingerprint," Nicholson says. "It truly is one voice speaking and it’s really made making music exciting again.”
Shape And Sound follows up Nicholson's 2015 album, Frantic City, which drew from his experiences balancing his work with being a new father. "All Your Dresses" shows Nicholson going much deeper on his new material, proving how pop music still has the capacity to be intelligent yet catchy, mature but fun, and above all, can talk about experiences we all share.
Originally from Lakefield, Ontario, Luke Nicholson had his first major breakthrough in 2007, when the track “Breathe” from the film Poor Boys Game earned a Genie nomination for Best Original Song. Nicholson’s debut album Mad Love, debuted on 2012, which spawned three CBC Radio 2 Top 20 singles and earned glowing reviews in Europe, most notably from Rolling Stone Germany who described Nicholson as a “young Elton John or Billy Joel.”
